Writing Tips
www.mylocalguide.org is the first web tourist guide generated by locals.
MyLG is made for all who would like a friend in each place they visit, to suggest best locations and give useful tips.
The main idea of MyLG is a Copernican revolution for tourist guide: through the web we will produce local and geo-referenced contents on specific places.
The production is based on the desire of locals to tell and make people know and appreciate their city or region. The locals give suggestions on what to do, or visit, where to eat, or shop, to discover the real soul of the place.
MyLG is not simply a list of locations, shops, bars, restaurants, all these places are described from a different point of view.
On MyLG you chose what to do, but mostly you can se who suggested it, his profile, his hobbies, profession, age…
Our aim is to create a community of travellers and local people, who will be able to travel visiting always someone where they go.
Everybody can apply to become a Local Guide!
FOLLOW THE STEPS
1. If the city you would like to write about doesn't exist write it to redazione@mylocalguide.org
We will immediately create it!
2. Sign in to become a Local Guide
Click here to start!
Do fill in your profile fully so we know more about you, and upload a photograph of yourself.
3. Create a destination
For example a restaurant, museum, etc.
Include always contacts of each destination you create. Address, phone number, website are very important!
Before creating a new destination please check if it already exist
4. Write your tip
Check spelling and grammar before you submit your guide!
Use sub-headings and phrases/keywords/places in bold type as they improve presentation and make texts easier to read.
Don’t submit articles that have been published elsewhere on the web.
Don't copy-paste texts from other web site.
The ideal length of a article is between 800 and 1.200 words.
5. Upload always some photographs!
Create your galleries of images and then put them on you tip!
6. After the publishing of your first tip your profile will be on line.
REMEMBER
Our editorial team will check your tip before publishing it!
In 7 days your tips will be published. If your tip isn’t good enough, our editorial team will let you know.
Write about a place that you know and love – your aim is to make people know and appreciate your city. You can only do that if you have real enthusiasm yourself.
We do not accept tips with a commercial interest.
